Dearest community,

It’s with a lot of regret that we announce the Copious venue operation is closing. We want to honor those of you who donated, volunteered, and built the venue. Though we received a significant financial lifeline last year, the pandemic took its toll on our ability to sustain the venue lease. With a great deal of heartbreak, this decision also comes with a renewed hope.

Our Board of Directors voted to grant the venue outright to a qualified organization that would continue to operate the space for the Seattle arts community. We decided with all of the love and support our company members, staff, volunteers, and donors had given - it would be a sincere shame to simply close up shop. If it were possible for someone to assume our lease, we would hand over the venue as-is. Enter: Seattle Burlesque and Cabaret Co-Op.

We couldn’t be happier finding purpose in our mission passing the venue on to Seattle Burlesque and Cabaret Co-Op, made up of 13 burlesque producers, performers, and artists. They will create an inclusive community home for the Seattle burlesque, drag, cabaret and performing arts communities, and we are thrilled to announce that home will be the little heartthrob of a theatre in Ballard that we lovingly called Copious for the last two years. Find out more about Seattle Burlesque and Cabaret Co-Op by signing up for their mailing list here: https://tinyurl.com/bvb4k3ea

Please note that Copious Love Productions is continuing as an intact nonprofit business under the leadership of Lacy Gavilanes (Executive Director) and Kathryn Stewart (Artistic Director). Our Board of Directors, all programming, and collaborations in the production company will also remain intact moving forward. Though our venue is changing hands, we’re eager to produce more Copious Love shows, events, and programming!

Looking forward to seeing you out there,

Tony Gavilanes
